Love your work and really connect with what you say. Keep it up please. Having reached the age of 60 and reconnecting with a lot of people I grew up with as a child, I now find that their world views and experiences conflict with mine as much as my narcissistic mother’s did. Whilst Daphne (my mother) had all the common dysfunctional ‘attributes’ that you have so expertly detailed my old friends are revealing themselves to be happy self confessed racists, misogynists, homophobes etc. Daphne had none of these traits in fact it was to her credit that she was tolerant of different peoples differences. Am I recreating a need for psychological turmoil now that Daphne’s passed by transferring my unresolved angsts onto old friends who I intend to ditch in the same way that I did with family? I’d be very interested to hear any ideas you may have. Regards Dave
